Accepting & Affirming
I am originally from Miami, Florida, and was drawn to counseling early in my career as a high school teacher and graduate student. I completed a funded clinical practicum in inpatient psychiatry and worked professionally in inpatient substance use rehab, as a psychiatric social worker, and as a high school social worker. I have served diverse clients, and I specialize in teen and early adult life transitions, depression, trauma, healthy relationships, sexual assault victims, and issues particular to the LGBTQIA+ community. I have a great deal of experience with teen/young adult women, men, and nonbinary clients. Poly/kink friendly and open to working with people in alternative lifestyles.
Early on, I realized the importance of acceptance in the therapeutic relationship, and I now practice cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral therapy to help my clients break through their negative thoughts and flip the script on their unwanted habits.
I prefer payment via cash, debit card, credit card, or HSA/FSA card to protect your confidentiality and to prevent insurance companies from dictating your treatment.
